The First Lady

Senator Oluremi Tinubu

First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria

The First Lady · Her record

Hope, carried into every home.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu became First Lady of Nigeria on 29 May 2023, after twelve years representing Lagos Central in the Senate and eight years as First Lady of Lagos State. Her platform, the Renewed Hope Initiative, works where the Renewed Hope Agenda meets the kitchen table: income for women, school fees for children, food in the pot and care for the elderly.

EducationHealthAgricultureSocial investmentEconomic empowerment

Women out of poverty

The Renewed Hope Initiative's economic empowerment programme hands cash grants and start-up support to women petty traders, artisans and small business owners in the 36 states and the FCT. Female farmers are backed through Women in Agriculture with inputs, equipment and training — so a woman's trade can grow instead of merely survive.

Food on the family table

Every Home A Garden asks households to grow vegetables and herbs at home, easing food costs and improving nutrition one kitchen at a time.

School, health and the elderly

RHI scholarships keep students in tertiary institutions, and an elderly support scheme puts cash directly in the hands of older Nigerians with no pension.
